A sweet day with my sweet family

We started a tradition quite a few years ago of having a fancy tea part together with the children to celebrate Valentine's Day.  It has become one of the most special days of the year for our family.  We all look forward to it!  This year we have had an illness going around in all of the children so we didn't do as much baking or decorating as we would've liked to, but we still had a wonderful day together, making memories and enjoying one another.
Emily and Molly got out their tea sets and all the little girls enjoyed using the dainty cups and saucers and using the teeny tiny spoons to stir and fix their cups of tea just right.  Emily made scones and toffee bars and Ethan made mini thumbelina-style chocolate chip cookies.  We all got gussied up so, like I do every year, I took everyone's picture.
Noah is so adorably handsome!

At first Jordy wasn't going to change, so I took a picture of him "grouching"...

then he decided to not be left out and he got gussied up also.  Doesn't he look so much more cheerful?

Emily looks so lovely, you'd never guess she can hardly talk.

Jacob even shaved for the occassion!

Ethan can't hardly be serious for very long, but I did get a decent shot of him...without his groucho glasses!  He just exudes orneriness!

Molly looking just as sweet as she is...

Miriam beaming with anticipation...

Naomi, sweet little cutiepie...

Kezzy and her homemade fancy fan...

Kelwynne, the wee princess of the family...

Samuel being his endearing little self...

And lastly, my handsome husband!

We have another tradition with our tea party and that is to play word games with the conversation hearts.  We have great fun doing this every year!  This year Steve brought some candy lips to the tea table which were a big hit with everyone.

Miriam wasn't going to be left out...

Noah was busy enjoying that delicious scone, which he called scums, much to Emily's amusement.

Samuel had his nap through most of the tea party, but I saved a candy heart for him, not for him to eat, however, that said Sweet Pea on it because while I was pregnant with him I called him my precious sweet pea growing in my secret garden.  We caught a quick photo of him with it just before he tried to put it right into his mouth!

We all had a wonderful day that ended with a surprise but I'll have to save that for another post!
