Winter Sowing Part 2

The next day, with the aid of my lovely assistants we scooped out the potting mix into a large bowl and wet it a bit and filled the bottle bottoms up to about 1 inch below the rim.

I let Emily have one of the trays to sow her flower seeds in.  We each chose our seeds and labeled popsicle sticks to keep track of what is in each bottle.

Emily was very excited to finally get to plant her flower seeds!

We put a few seeds in each bottle, stuck a popsicle stick it to label it and then watered them.

Here is my tray with my chosen seeds.

Here is Emily's tray with some of her flowers.

Then we put them outside and left them to do their thing and wake up and stir when the time is right.

Ater they sprout we will cock the lids to prevent them from cooking.  On cold nights and in cold weather we will cover them again.

We sure hope it works!
